What a busy couple of weeks! I know, I know… I have gone M.I.A (other than a few Facebook, Instagram & Twitter posts) and I sincerely apologize for that! It’s been a crazy ride of ups and some downs… but mostly UPS!
The “downs” haven’t (luckily) been anything super bad, like bad news or anything… For 7 years I have suffered with chronic pain and it is a daily struggle.. some OK days and some horrible days. However, I will save most of this for an in-depth future blog (more suitable). But for now I will just say now that the pain really puts a damper on my days. It can completely stop me from doing anything (like blogging, making dinner, going to the market etc) the last month I have had a huge flare up in daily pain… The good news regarding any of this is that am currently working with my pain management doctor on a new plan to manage the pain (so, now I patiently await his call with approvals). Now, I hate being a “Debbie Downer” and talking about my pain, however after much thought I realized that If I am going to be “open” in my blogging then it is going to get brought up. Not talking about it ever would actually hinder all “truth-telling” and honesty. If I am going to be open and honest in what I write, I have to be pen about my everyday struggles as well, right? And since it sometimes does affect how much I get done most days (i.e. new blogs) it shouldn’t be something that I hide (I do not want to be one of the writers who only shares life’s perfect moments, because real life isn’t always perfect). But, like I said… I will save this for another day and another time so y’all can enjoy the “good news” and giveaway info below =)
So… let’s get to it….
I am working on future posts at this time, collaborations & giveaways (one is mentioned below) and so much more for all of you to enjoy. It’s getting exciting and I am really hoping you all love it and participate.
My amazing Dylan landed a commercial… GREAT NEWS!!! Bad news, I can’t tell any of you what it is for, until it is actually released (confidentiality agreements) LOL. SORRY! I promise I will share this as soon as I am allowed to! I am so happy for him!!! He had a blast on set and I overheard the director talking about him, and the director was just overall super stoked about casting him!
The last time he was on set, I was not able to be there (Mike took him instead) so I missed out and I was super bummed (He worked with Stone Cold Steve Austin that day!). This time I was his personal assistant and Uber.. HA HA! But it was great spending time with him during the 2 auditions, wardrobe day (where we were able to enjoy a lunch date together)
and the actual shoot day. I admit, they were long days and long drives and I would come home just so drained, but it was al worth it! I was so surprised to see how professional he gets once on set, when he gets to work he takes it serious. Now I am anxiously awaiting the commercial to air, and then I can share it with all of you! (Stay Tuned!)
Extra Good News: My oldest, Angel is now working for my husbands union as a stagehand!!! He is a “newbie” on his probationary period (which typically lasts about a year) but I can tell he is excited as much as we are (and he loves the pay… which makes it worth all the hard work.

I tend to be a homebody…. but this month we actually had more outings as usual. My mom and I absolutely LOVE to go to thrift stores and find gems. We have been doing it since I was a kid… and funny enough, Dylan gets excited to go with us too now, as well as to yard sales! lol
This month I ended up finding quite a few gems; Disney collector plates (I mean, seriously … aren’t they just adorable?), really great (authentic) china tea cups and saucers, a large Tommy Hilfiger purse and a Coach purse in awesome condition… and a bunch of other little trinkets, toys for the kids and more that I am just in love with.
Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the 2 seater couch we bought our dogs for $7.00! And, it was actually in really good condition too! Every night our dogs would fight over who had the rights over the one love seat we had for them. When we brought this couch home, our newest rescue, Franklin literally jumped on it and gave my hubby 1000 hugs and kisses. It was so cute!!!!! Now all 3 of them have space, and peace is beginning to restore.
My mom and I like to go to both large stores like Goodwill and the smaller, less-well-known thrift shops, which always have the best antiques and vintage items. Sometimes when I need to drive her to her doctor appointments and I have Isabella at home with Mike, my mom and I will detour to 1 or 2 thrift shops just to look around, but we always find something HA HA. It’s our way of taking a “break” and getting some mother-daughter time together. Like we used to do when I kid. So, I cherish these days and It makes me happy when my son gets excited and wants to come along as well.
Do you have any major scores from a thrift shop? You really never know what you will find. There are so many stories out there of people finding something for a few bucks and they turn out to be items worth hundreds of thousands or more.
