As of today, Girl Scout cookie season is officially over! How will I survive without my absolute favorite, Samoa Cookie box? Well, I found the solution and I am going to teach YOU how to make it!
Girl Scout Cookie ~ Samoa Cake!
Now, I can not take credit for this recipe what-so-ever! I went searching the internet for an over-sized version of my favorite cookie and came across a few different recipes until I found one and I just HAD to test it out myself… and I must say… THIS….CAKE…IS… A-MAZ-ING!!
*This recipe is adapted from BetsyLife.
This recipe does take some time to prepare and consists of 2 batters (chocolate and brown sugar), but the result is worth every single minute of it! **Quick tip: if you want to simplify this recipe a bit to save a tad bit of time, you can replace the chocolate batter (dry portion only) with a box of your favorite Hershy’s chocolate cake mix, but you will still need to follow the steps that include its other ingredients (oil, egg and water).
In order to give it a realistic, over-sized Samoa cookie look you will want to use a standard bundt pan, like this one: Baker’s Secret – Essentials Fluted Tube/Bundt Pan. OR get really creative and make individual cakes using small donut sized pan molds! (Just watch the cook time on them, since they are smaller!)
This recipe will knock your socks off and it will be the hit of any party or gathering you take it to. This quirky over-sized rendition of a Samoa cookie is rich, moist and full of flavor! Definitely worth the time, you will not be disappointed! (and neither will your friends, family or guests)
*I have prepared the recipe for you below, in a handy-dandy printable (no-picture, recipe only) version just for you! Just click the print icon in the recipe box below and you are ready to go!
ENJOY (and SHARE!)
NOTE ** The original recipe calls for home-made dulce de leche (made from a can of condensed milk, and boiled/cooked for a few hours) However, Dulce de leche can usually be found at your local grocer right next to condensed milk. It is approximately $3.99 for the can. Trader Joes carries their own as well! If you absolutely can not find it, don’t despair! I am working on a recipe post which will show you how to make your own Dulce De Leche with condensed sweetened milk and I will update this post with a link once it is complete.
